Dodgers News: LA Insider Expects Lance Lynn to Make Huge Postseason Impact

Since the Dodgers made the move to trade for starting pitcher Lance Lynn, it has completely revitalized their starting rotation.

He has come in and helped stabilize everything for this team, and he has turned his season around as well.

Through five starts with LA, Lynn owns a 2.03 ERA. Compare that to his numbers when he was a member of the Chicago White Sox, and you can see the difference. In Chicago, Lynn had an ERA of 6.47 in 21 starts.

Sometimes all a player needs is to switch teams, and it has worked for Lynn. The change of scenery has done wonders for him, and he seems very happy to be in Los Angeles

Recently in an interview with our very own Doug McKain, Spectrum SportsNet LA insider, Jose Mota gave his thoughts on Lynn and how he projects for the postseason. You can watch the entire video here!

“Of course,” Mota said when asked if Lynn will make big postseason starts this season. “I only base that on experience and the fact that the guy has some drive, man. He’s got some dog in him. And I think Lance Lynn’s the guy that if you say, ‘Hey, there’s no pitch limit,’ he’s gonna go, ‘Oh, thank you. I can go 140, I can go 130.’ And I like the mentality of him being able to, kind of, put things behind where they were in Chicago and just fitting into the environment, the culture. And having enough stuff that if you put him in any kind of playoff situation against any lineup, he’s gonna figure out a way.”

Per DodgersNation YouTube Channel

Lynn brings over experience in the playoffs, winning the World Series in 2011 with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers believe they can trust him in big games, and he has shown that he is up to the challenge.

He has helped ease the minds of the organization, and the entire rotation has followed suit. The team has dominated in the month of August on the backs of the starters.

LA is going to need Lynn to continue this level of production as the season starts to wind down, and it’s a huge part that they know he will go out there and deliver. He will be one of the x-factors that ultimately decide how far this team goes in the postseason.
