Dodgers News: Michael Grove Posts on Social Media Following Disappointing NLDS Loss

Several Dodgers players expressed their emotions on social media in the wake of the team’s unfortunately early end to their 2023 season.

After the Diamondbacks swept LA in their NLDS series, rookie hurler Michael Grove took to his Instagram page to talk about his overall experience this season.

It was a mix of up and down for Grove’s first full season in the Show after both on and off-the-field struggles.

Injuries to the Dodgers’ rotation allowed Grove to start some games for LA earlier in the year but those experiences showed him a heavy learning curve.

Failure to get deep into games or keep runners from scoring doomed Grove’s time as a starter and an injury took him out for a month and a half by August.

Grove returned from injury as a reliever and served well in his new role with three scoreless outings to end his regular season.

That performance gave Grove a spot on the NLDS roster after his manager Dave Roberts controversially left off Ryan Yarbrough in place of the rookie.

LA’s bullpen was about the only bright spot from their embarrassing defeat to a division rival and Grove played his part in that dominance.

Grove pitched in mop-up duty from an already ugly Game 1 and added to Arizona’s already bloated margin thanks to a solo home run by Tommy Pham.

The rookie’s second showing for the series wasn’t great either after some shaky command and multiple base runners got on.

This time around, Grove pitched out of the jam and kept the game close before LA’s offense sputtered once again.

Such a good performance in a pivotal spot should only serve as a great experience for an exciting young arm of the Dodgers’ future.
