Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Will Be Out of Lineup Often Down the Stretch

After the season the Dodgers have had on the injury front, it is important to try to keep players healthy. There are currently 13 players on the injured list and at least 11 other Dodgers currently on the active or 40-man roster have also seen time on the IL with various injuries.

With that said, Dave Roberts spoke with the media on Sunday and talked about the game plan for the oft-injured Mookie Betts for the remainder of the season.

I think that the three on, one-off, three on, one-off, and then we have a stretch of 13 consecutive games where I’ll probably give him a day off there but there is going to be a point where we are going to run him out there every day because he is the best option and he understands that.

Betts, who has been on and off the injured list this season with a hip injury, among other things, made his comeback on August 26th and plans to finish out the season. Still the team will exercise caution even while chasing the Giants in the NL West. The goal is to ensure that Betts stays healthy, especially because he is still one of the Dodgers’ key players.

On the year, Mookie has 17 home runs with a .882 OPS while playing in 91 out of 131 games this season.

  1. Big mistake. That means that Bellinger will be in the lineup, and we all know what will happen.
