Dodgers News: RHP Ian Gibaut Claimed By the Reds

What a wild week it has been for RHP Ian Gibaut. The reliever was claimed by the Dodgers last week and had his flight changed to Los Angeles to meet up with the team. He was with them in the dugout for Friday night’s game against the Padres and activated.

Then just 2 days later, the Dodgers designated him for assignment and activated both Mookie Betts and David Price. He never got into a game for Los Angeles and his time here won’t be remembered past…this sentence, probably.

But this week, Gibaut found a new home. After passing through 29 other teams on the waiver list last week, the Dodgers list him to the Reds at number 1.

The Dodgers are going to be without Chris Taylor for a few days after he reinjured his foot that he fouled a ball off of. But Dave Roberts also added that he would no longer be playing in the infield this year. That’s a result of that elbow that he had surgery on in the offseason.

The Dodgers have had a lot of success picking up random names on the market. But Trayce Thompson is proving to be one of their better pickups for the 2022 season. Just look at that homerun on Monday night.
