Dodgers News & Rumors: Ned Colletti Reassures Matt Kemp’s Agent
The Los Angeles Dodgers have a surplus of talented outfielders and that’s definitely a good problem to have. With the emergence of Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers’ outfield has become crowded, leaving one player as the odd man out. Injuries rarely allowed the four outfielders to be healthy in 2013, but they should all be ready to go by Spring Training.
The Dodgers have a lot of money invested in all four, but Matt Kemp has been the biggest trade chip so far. Coming into the off-season, there’s been many to suggest they trade one of their outfielders, but Kemp has gotten the most attention thus far. The money owed on his contract has scared some teams away, but when healthy, Kemp is worth every penny. A team would have to be willing to take a risk on Kemp, with the Dodgers taking on significant salary in order to get back some worthy pieces.
According to Kemp’s agent, Dave Stewart, he won’t be traded this season, which could mean Andre Ethier is the odd-man out. While Ned Colletti and Stan Kasten maintain they’re just listening to offers, it’s hard to fathom the Dodgers entering the season with all four outfielders.
