Dodgers News: Tyson Miller Designated for Assignment Days After Rejoining LA, Ryan Pepiot Activated

The Dodgers have designated RHP Tyson Miller for assignment for the second time this season on Wednesday to make room for RHP Ryan Pepiot on the active roster.

Pepiot was recalled to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team announced the move Wednesday afternoon.

Miller was just claimed by the Dodgers on Sunday, and was added to the active roster on Monday. He appeared in one game for LA this time around, throwing two shutout innings on Tuesday, before getting DFA’d yet again.

Miller started the year with the Milwaukee Brewers, but was traded to LA after they let him go. He then appeared in one game for LA, before being DFA’d and joining the New York Mets.

Then, LA claimed him off waivers when New York got rid of him, and after just one appearance, he’s now back on waivers.

You have to feel for Miller, who has been unable to find a landing spot all year long. He’ll now head back to waivers, and see if another team decides to claim him.

If not, Miller will likely be sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he’ll hope to return to the big-league level at some point this season.

As for Pepiot, he gets the well-earned start for LA on Wednesday after two solid appearances to open his 2023 campaign. He’s gone a combined nine innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out 11. We’ll see how he fares against Arizona on Wednesday.
