Dodgers News: Yasmani Grandal, Logan Forsythe Impress in Opening Game Win
Baseball season is underway, and the Dodgers are 1-0.
In a rally led by unheralded hero Brett Eibner, L.A. overcame a 2-0 deficit to upend the Chicago White Sox 5-3 in the first game of spring.
Clayton Kershaw was masterful in the first, but Alex Wood didn’t have the same fortune. His control was off and it allowed Chicago to quickly score two runs. Their lead could’ve been more, but Logan Forsythe made a leaping grab to prevent a Jose Abreu hit from finding center field and scoring another run.
Easy 1-2-3 inning for Kershaw. 12 pitches. He could be a guy to watch out for this season. ?

Forsythe had a solid debut. His first at-bat required eight Carson Fulmer pitches. His second was a double off the wall. While he made the acrobatic defensive play, he also dropped a Yasmani Grandal throw that would’ve halted a steal attempt.
Grandal was 2-for-2 on the day. He hit a monstrous double which tied the game at 2. So far, so good for the skinnier Grandal.
Justin Turner and Corey Seager were also two regulars who recorded hits on the day, including Turner collecting the first RBI of the spring. Cody Bellinger debuted and went 0-for-2.
Locked in a 3-3 tie, Eibner hammered a homer in the bottom of the sixth. Scott Van Slyke extended the lead an inning later by scoring Chris Taylor.
Brett Eibner, ladies and gentlemen.

It’s just spring training, but 1-0 is 1-0. Take the wins as they come. The Dodgers return to action tomorrow at 3:05 against the Milwaukee Brewers.
