Dodgers Notes: 3 Trade Candidates, Blake Snell Shut Down Reasoning, Dave Roberts Talks Shohei Ohtani Struggles

The Los Angeles Dodgers have three pitchers who a top insider recently linked to be trade candidates before the deadline. A major reason was that the injured pitchers planning to come back from the 60-day injured list will once again count towards the 40-man roster upon returning to the Dodgers, and L.A. will need space.

Speaking of pitchers on the injured list, manager Dave Roberts revealed why the team shut down Blake Snell’s throwing after the two-time Cy Young award winner suffered a setback in his recovery. At this point in the season, there is no reason to rush back pitchers who will throw key innings in October, especially after a recovery setback.

Finally, the skipper also spoke on Shohei Ohtani’s recent struggles. Roberts believes that the three-time MVP has been ‘over agressive’ after batting .143 in his last five games.
