Dodgers Owner Mark Walter Nominated for Prestigious Award
Dodgers owner Mark Walter has been nominated for a prestigious award: the Sports Business Awards. These honors reflect excellence over the past year all across 14 different categories.
Water has been nominated as one of the candidates for the Executive of the Year award as chosen by the Sports Business Journal. There will be a live event on Wednesday, May 22 at at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.
This is a great honor for Walter, and reflects the success he has compiled since Guggenheim Baseball Management bought the Dodgers out of bankruptcy in 2012. Los Angeles is home to some of the best players in the game of baseball today, and the team is about to embark on one of the most critical seasons in franchise history.
Walter’s work in giving the front office freedom to spend money has made it all possible. We wish Walter a big congratulations on this incredible nomination and hope to hear his name called at the event in May.
