Dodgers Playoff Roster: Will Cody Bellinger and Chris Taylor Step Up?

The outfield has been a question mark for the Dodgers all season long.

The struggles of Cody Bellinger and Chris Taylor on top of the emergence of Trayce Thompson and the midseason acquisition of Joey Gallo have left the Dodgers with a ton of options come postseason time.

Who will start in the outfield next to Mookie Betts come postseason time? And how long will the leashes be on Bellinger and Taylor if they continue to struggle?

Our Doug McKain and Clint Pasillas have everything you need to know about the Dodgers outfield as the postseason nears:

Left and center field are the only real question marks for the team. If they can get production out of the 7-8-9 spots in the lineup, this team will be virtually unstoppable. 1. Trayce Thompson should definitely be in there. Let Belli, CT3 & Gallo fight for the other spot!

  2. Trayce hits righties better than lefties, so as far as I’m concerned, he should start in LF every game unless Taylor picks it up and makes a case to play against lefties.

  3. Trayce Thompson for sure. He’s proved himself. He’s hitting for a higher average, has some pop, and plays great defense. The other three would be a coin flip.

  4. Thompson has earned more at bats he has the highest OBP & OPS on the club!! And hits righties better. Bellinger continues to hover at .200 with lots of strike outs and pop ups. Taylor strikes out too much for anyone especially one with limited power. Neither of them can be trusted to have an epiphany and start barreling up balls.

  5. love the video and opinions. I too think that the Dodgers are in a much better place in the outfield than the past few postseasons. Cody is going to come alive, but i think CT3 is going to go Chase Utley mode and just smash it on both sides of the ball.
