Dodgers President Provides Exciting Update on Dodger Stadium Renovations

For a majority of the offseason, Dodger Stadium has been under construction. Players have had to find new locations to practice while renovations have been made to the L.A. landmark.

Shohei Ohtani was spotted getting reps in at Maranatha High School in Pasadena. Mookie Betts was captured practicing at Sierra Canyon High School. Although it was a treat for fans to witness Dodgers superstars at local fields, the renovations at Dodger Stadium certainly presented challenges for the team.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman provided more context to the situation.

“It’s been a huge advantage for us in years past, having our Minor League players here and big league players train here, our chefs making breakfast and lunch, obviously the weather being perfect,” Friedman said.

“It’s been a challenge this winter. Making the most of it. We feel like it will be worth it in the end, but certainly a challenging offseason.”

Nevertheless, good news came Friday.

The remodeling project is in its final stages, according to team president Stan Kasten. Dodger Stadium will be ready to host the Freeway Series against the Los Angeles Angels on March 23.

The seats are ready for fans, and the field has been replaced for players. There are still a few details that remain unfinished, specifically in the expanded clubhouse areas. However, everything is expected to be done for the Freeway Series.

By the time the Dodgers return from Japan, their stadium will be ready to welcome them home.
