Dodgers Prospect Nick Frasso Likely Out For Season With Shoulder Injury
The Dodgers received some unfortunate news regarding one of their top pitching prospects. Right-hander Nick Frasso tore his right labrum and underwent surgery to repair it in November.
He provided some optimism that he could return soon, but the recovery time for this time of injury is typically 8-12 months. Dr. Neal ElAttrache was the one who performed the surgery.
Frasso split time between Double-A and Triple-A last season. He was expected to potentially make his major league debut this season, but that will now be on hold.
Last year, he posted an ERA of 3.26 over four appearances in Triple-A. He looked good during the 19.1 innings of work, and the Dodgers’ front office has been very high on his potential upside to help the big-league club.
He holds a career ERA of 2.96 over 152 innings in the minor leagues. Frasso was originally a fourth-round draft selection of the Toronto Blue Jays back in 2020 and was traded to Los Angeles in exchange for pitcher Mitch White in 2022.
This is a major blow to the Dodgers farm system, and we wish Frasso all the best in his recovery.
