Dodgers Reveal Their Extensive All-Star Game Plans

The Dodgers will FINALLY host the MLB All-Star Game this Summer. After missing out on the 2020 game due to the coronavirus pandemic, it returns to Los Angeles after 42 years. And it’s incredly fitting given that they just celebrated the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. 

This week, the team held an event to announce some ofthe upcoming events and talk to Dodgers players. That included Clayton Kershaw noting that he really hoped he would make it this year, and his chances are looking good. 



Here are some things that are coming up this July with the All-Star Game on the 19th. 

Futures Game and Celebrity Softball Game

This year, the All-Star Game will host the Futures Game and Celebrity Softball Game on the same day. Those games will be played on Saturday elading up to the game. 

Homerun Derby

The Homerun Derby will be held on July 18th this year, also the same day that the workouts will be held for the All-Stars. Given the Southern California weather and dimensions of Dodger Stadium, i’s bound to be a great time.

Play Ball Park at LA Live

LA Live will feature events for the All-Star Game, featurning both baseball and softball. It will also have music and a red carpet event for the All-Star and their families before heading to the stadium. There will also be indoor events in the surrounding area. 

MLB Draft

Sunday night will feature the MLB draft again as part of the All-Star Game festivities this year. That will also be held at the outdoor plaza at LA Live. 

Santa Monica Pier Events

Friday through Sunday will also feature a slate of events down in Santa Monica. Fans will have the opportunity to attend free events, including instructional youth baseball and softball. There will also be yoga classes and baseball themed sand sculptures on the beach. MLB will also have batting cages set up on the pier and will take part in a beach cleanup on July 16th.
