Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers Close To Acquiring Carlos Marmol From Cubs
The Dodgers have won eight of nine and closed to within four games of the NL West lead in large thanks to Yasiel Puig and their starting pitching.
For most of the season, the Dodgers bullpen has underwhelmed as Brandon League has been removed from the closer’s role in favor of Kenley Jansen. Also, they designated Matt Guerrier and Peter Moylan for assignment and brought up Jose Dominguez and Chris Withrow, who impressed yesterday afternoon.
However, Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago tweeted they’re close to acquiring another reliever:

It isn’t known if Marmol would be apart of a package with starter Matt Garza, but it’s unknown what the Dodgers see in Marmol. Like League, Marmol was removed from the closer’s role earlier this season by Kyuji Fujikawa and Kevin Gregg as he sports a 5.86 ERA.
