Dodgers Rumors: Left-Hander Alex Vesia Getting Called Up from Taxi Squad
After Friday night’s marathon game where the Dodgers used 6 relievers in a 12 inning victory over the Padres, the wary boys in blue have reinforcements on the way. Moreover, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group dropped the news via a source this morning on Twitter.
Source: Alex Vesia is getting called up by the Dodgers and will be active today. They used six relievers in a 12-inning, 11-6 win over the Padres that began Friday and ended early this morning.

No word yet on any truth behind the rumor, but it seems fairly solid. Beyond that, there’s also no word on who will be sent down to make room on the active roster for Alex Vesia, or whether that will be the only move LA makes.
After the game last night (this morning?), Dave Roberts very much made it seem like right-hander Brusdar Graterol could be recalled for his season debut today, so there’s a chance there may be more than one move in the works today.
Vesia was with the Dodgers through most of spring training. In 7 appearances, the 25-year-old recorded 10 strikeouts while surrendering 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings. The Alpine, California native made his big league debut with the Marlins last season, allowing 9 earned runs over 4.1 innings pitched.
The left-hander came to the Dodgers in an offseason trade with Miami that sent reliever Dylan Floro to the Marlins.
