Beaty may have cost him a roster spot when Seager back though would need a lefty off the bench.
The person that should be thrown under the bus is Roberts, he’s the guy that took McKinstry out of right and replaced him with Beaty. Zack ran a great route and made a nice play on a ball hit to right earlier in the game. He could have also put Taylor in right and and Muncy or McKinstry at 2nd with Albert at first if he had Max change positions if he thinks Matt is not “an elite” defender. It was just another example of Roberts ineptitude at managing a ball game yet he has the gall to “throw Beaty under the bus”, way to shift the blame, Roberts, lot of class.
Will Mega Millionaire Betts be available for the homestand or relaxing on a beach somewhere?
Absolutely NO excuses now! Playing @ home in front of your loyal fans, this 2 series w/ contending teams are must wins to prove your statue. Got to play smart championship baseball to turn the image of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fans, the team really need your support now. Seems the “ BEAT LA” chant and “SWEEP—-SWEEP” @ Petco had beat the boys down mentally.
So many questions of WHY. Roberts bats Bellinger with his 189 avg in the 4 spot. The entitlement coaching of Roberts is limiting this teams ability to prosper. Nobody fears Bellinger, nobody fears Pollock, nobody fears Smith. But Roberts continually bats them between 4 -5-6. Betts with his 250 avg doesn’t do any good at lead off right now either. Taylor should be lead off with with Muncy 2nd, JT 3rd , Pujols 4th .Then Betts 5th then Bellinger 6th Pollock 7th Lutz 8th. If Roberts had that Lineup they have to avoid pitching around anyone but putting Bellinger behind JT doesn’t allow JT to see his pitches. This lineup would have beaten the Padres at least once. It amazes me how over confident Roberts is and how he has no clue how to put pressure on anyone. This years Dodgers NEVER have the right guy up at the right moment . This years Dodgers have tons of base runners and tons of walks, that’s because they’re always walking our hitters to get to weak hitting players like Pollock,Bellinger, Lutz, D’souza, etc. Wake up Roberts, make line ups that will force the enemy to pitch to our sluggers instead of walking them or only throwing junk at them!!
Note, sit Pollock and Smith bat 7th. Probably need a catcher…
