Dodgers Score: Live Game Updates vs Reds on Tuesday, Tony Gonsolin Starting, James Outman on the Bench

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, looking to end a mini two-game losing streak thanks to the New York Yankees.

What was once a normal Tuesday game has now been completely upended with the news of Reds top prospect Elly De La Cruz getting called up to start the game.

All eyes will now be on Reds vs. Dodgers, as De La Cruz is the No. 4 ranked prospect in all of baseball, per MLB.com. But the Dodgers can’t worry about any of that.

De La Cruz will have to face the red-hot Tony Gonsolin, who’s taking the mound for the Dodgers in the series opener. The Reds have the struggling RHP Luke Weaver going (but more on them later).

Here’s a look at the lineup Dave Roberts is sending out against the Reds’ right-hander.

The Dodgers have their normal top five of the lineup today coming off a day off. The struggling James Outman is sitting on the bench against a righty, while Miguel Rojas is in at shortstop over Chris Taylor.

Pitching Matchup

Gonsolin has had a great start to the season since coming off the injured list. He’s allowed just seven earned runs all year, and hasn’t allowed more than three in any start. He’ll look to continue that dominance at Great American Ball Park, somewhere he hasn’t pitched very well at in his career (6.14 ERA in 7.1 innings).

As for Weaver, he’s struggled this season and really throughout his entire career. He hasn’t been very good against the Dodgers, either, sporting a 7.57 ERA in 27.1 career innings. The Dodger bats should be able to get this series off to a good start with an early-inning outburst against Weaver.
