After winning the National League MVP and Cy Young awards in 2014, it’s been somewhat of a rough go for Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw this season. The left-hander hasn’t always reflected the same dominant form he had last season, and has been the victim of multiple tough-luck losses.

Such was the case Friday when Kershaw took the mound against the New York Mets, riding a career-first three-game losing streak. Kershaw allowed just one run in seven innings and added to his prolific strikeout total this season by fanning seven batters.

Kershaw walked away with a no-decision in a game the Dodgers lost, 2-1. One day after his 17th start of the season Kershaw was the subject of an in-game interview with the FOX booth. Positioned on the steps of the Dodgers’ dugout, Kershaw began by providing his assessment of Zack Greinke and Matt Harvey to that point.

Just over 30 seconds into the interview Kershaw was hazed by a teammate, or teammates, off camera who threw sunflower seeds in his direction. He acknowledged their efforts to distract him while carrying on with the segment to the best of his abilities.

A shot from behind the Dodgers dugout showed Kiké Hernandez was at one point responsible for the sunflower seeds flying in Kershaw’s direction.
