Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves: Betting Odds and Predictions for Friday’s Game

The Dodgers and Braves will kick off a 3-game series tonight in Atlanta. Julio Urias gets the ball for Los Angeles going up against RHP Ian Anderson for the Braves. The 2 teams from the dramatic 2020 National League Championship Series meet again to battle it out.

Urias is coming off of an outing in which he got absolutely hammered by the Giants offense. Julio allowed 11 hits over 5 innings and was charged with 6 earned runs. But aside from that 1 outing, Urias has been nails for the Dodgers all year.

Ian Anderson has also had a less-than-great month of May. He’s allowed 12 runs in 5 starts while tossing 26 innings. If the Dodgers are going to take advantage of anything, it’s going to be his control. Anderson has averaged close to a 10 percent walk rate in 2021.

  • Braves Odds: +110
  • Dodgers Odds: -135
  • ver/Under: 8.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

The Braves bullpen also ranks out as one of the worst in MLB with a 4.79 ERA. If the Dodgers can get to Anderson early or make him work hard early, getting to the bullpen would be ideal.

Predictions: The Dodgers come into this series with a 33-23 record versus the Braves’ 26-28 record. Los Angeles’ lineup has been tougher on right-handed pitching than Atlanta’s has been on left-handed pitching, so the Dodgers seem to be a safe bet tonight. However, watch out for Anderson’s fastball/change-up combination.

Over or Under? Take the under in this one. Coming off of games where the Dodgers score more than 10 runs, they have a tendency to go low. They have AJ Pollock back in the lineup though, so you never know what they have in store.
