Dodgers vs Guardians: Betting Odds and Predictions For Clayton Kershaw’s Start
The Dodgers and Guardians start a 3-game series in Los Angeles tonight. Clayton Kershaw will get the ball making his second start since coming off of the injured list. Kersh went just 4 innings and allowed 2 earned runs against San Francisco over the weekend.
He faces off against Guardians pitchers Zach Plesac, who hasn’t had the best start to his season, Plesac has pitched to a 4.70 ERA across his first 11 starts of the season. He’s a good candidate for the Dodgers’ stalled-out offense to break through against.
But the Guardians aren’t anything to laugh at this season. They have won 8 of their last 10 games and come into Los Angeles as one of the hottest teams in baseball. Cleveland also has Jose Ramirez, who has posted a 1.048 OPS and crushed 16 homeruns already. Kershaw and the Dodgers will need to be careful with him.
- Guardians Odds: +220
- Dodgers Odds: -275
- Over/Under: 8 (-110 / -110)

Predictions: This one might be a closer call than you think. Yes, they’re the Los Angeles Dodgers and yes, they’re heavily favored. But the Guardians come into this game incredibly hot, albeit with a streaky pitcher on the mound for them.
But…from a pure betting standpoint, taking Cleveland might not be the worst move in this one. Please don’t hate us for that.
Over or Under? The Dodgers’ offense has been a shell of itself the last week or so, but Plesac is a prime candidate for them to break out against. He has averaged close to 3 earned runs per start and has been hit hard in the last month or so. Alternatively, Clayton Kershaw has been phenomenal this year.
It could end up being very close, but take the under here. Especially with the Dodgers’ tendency to not hit bad pitchers.
