Dodgers vs Reds on May 25: How to Watch, Betting Odds, Prediction, and More

The Dodgers enter their game Saturday night against the Cincinnati Reds looking to break a three-game losing streak. Los Angeles saw its offense get a nice spark in last night’s game but it wasn’t enough as they lost by a score of 9-6. Heading into the second game of the series, the Dodgers will need to bring a better effort if they want to come away with the win.

Los Angeles holds a record 33-20 on the season, sitting in first place within the National League West. As for the Reds, they have a record of 21-30, sitting in last place within the National League Central. On paper, this matchup favors the Dodgers but Cincinnati is a feisty club with some talented young players.

Lineups

Pitching Matchup

The Dodgers are sending right-hander Walker Buehler (1-1, 5.05 ERA) to the mound today. He is coming off his best start of the season against this same Reds team last week. Buehler posted six shutout innings, only allowing three hits, and striking out seven batters. Cincinnati is throwing out flame-thrower Hunter Greene (2-2, 3.22 ERA), who did well against Los Angeles in his last start. He posted 6.1 innings, allowing two runs, and striking out eight hitters.

Prediction

The Dodgers are coming off a strange game against the Reds last night where they held a 5-3 lead at one point. With Buehler on the mound, Los Angeles has to feel good about their chances tonight. He will need to be careful pitching in a very hitter-friendly ballpark but he seems to be getting into more of a groove as he works his way fully back. Buehler leads Los Angeles to a needed victory to stop the bleeding.

Dodgers 5, Reds 4

• This will be Buehler’s eighth career start against the Reds. He is 2-3 with an ERA of 2.76 in his career.

• Buehler has never won at Great American Ball Park, going 0-2 with an ERA of 3.00 in 12 innings pitched.

• The Los Angeles bullpen has posted a Major League-best 2.22 ERA over the last 30 games.
