Beginning Wednesday, ESPN will launch its extensive coverage of the pennant races and historic milestones, the network announced via press release on Tuesday.

Baseball Tonight Special: MLB Squeeze Play Whip-Around Show will be the home for both the National League and American League pennant races while expanded cut-in and highlight will capture potential historic achievements for Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge.

The release detailed ESPN’s launch of Baseball Tonight Special: MLB Squeeze Play, a new whip-around show focused on the 2024 MLB pennant race. The show will air three times in September, starting on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 4-7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN, with additional broadcasts on Sept. 18 and Sept. 25.

As the regular season wraps up, Baseball Tonight will air a special episode on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 3-5 p.m. PT.

MLB Squeeze Play will feature live look-ins at key moments across various games during the intense pennant chase. Analysts David Cone and Eduardo Pérez will join host Kevin Connors for the debut episode. ESPN has secured rights for cut-ins and highlights to showcase potential historic moments from superstars Ohtani and Judge across both its linear and digital platforms, including social media.

Ohtani enters Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs with 46 home runs and 47 stolen bases. He is on pace to accomplish the first 50-50 season in baseball history and ESPN will be along for the ride.
