Former Dodger Justin Turner Walks Off the Field Bloodied After Getting Drilled in the Face

It was an ugly scene in Fort Myers, Florida after former Dodgers great Justin Turner got hit in the face by a Matt Manning fastball. JT immediately dropped to the deck and could be seen bleeding.

Content warning for the squeamish.

He walked off the field under his own power but it’s a devastating sight to see.

Turner joined the Boston Red Sox this offseason after spending the last nine seasons with the Dodgers. He came to LA and built himself up into one of the premier hitters in the game. Our thoughts go out to JT and we hope for the absolute best in his recovery.

UPDATE

Boston Globe Beat Writer Julian McWilliams shared an update on the Turner situation. The veteran infielder was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
