Dodgers News: Justin Bruihl Leaves Monday’s Spring Training Game With Apparent Injury

The Dodgers are being hit with quite the injury bug this spring training. On the same day that Tony Gonsolin left practice with what turned out to be a left ankle sprain, LHP Justin Bruihl was removed from Monday’s spring training game with an injury of his own.

While we didn’t know what it was in the moment, now that the game is over, manager Dave Roberts has spoken to the media in his postgame presser, and said that Bruihl was dealing with back spasms. Fabian Ardaya was among those to tweet it out.

Bruihl was removed from the game against the San Diego Padres after facing just two batters. He walked one and hit another with a pitch, and then was taken out of the game. It’s nice to know it was just back spasms, and hopefully he’ll be good to go as soon as possible.

This was Bruihl’s third appearance of the spring. His first one didn’t go too well, as he allowed two earned runs on two hits in one inning of work. He then made a second appearance against the Cincinnati Reds, and pitched a scoreless inning.

We’ll see when he gets back out there for another appearance this spring, but fortunately, this injury wasn’t a serious one.
