Former Dodgers Outfielder Released by NL West Foe

Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Bradley Zimmer has been released by the Colorado Rockies. After being unable to make the team’s roster ahead of Opening Day, the 31-year-old was released, via the Denver Post’s Patrick Saunders.

After bringing in former Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Jake Cave, the Rockies chose to move on from Zimmer.

Zimmer, who signed with the Dodgers on a minor league contract in 2023, played for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers to begin the season. With the OKC Dodgers, Zimmer recorded three home runs and 14 RBIs. However, Zimmer was released in May 2023. He latched on with the Boston Red Sox organization, spending the rest of 2023 with their Triple-A affiliate.

Prior to joining the Dodgers, Zimmer played for four MLB teams. His longest stint came with Cleveland, who selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of the University of San Francisco. Zimmer spent four years with Cleveland from 2017-21. He then had brief stints with the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies in 2022 before he joined the Dodgers in 2023.

Overall, Zimmer has a .213 career batting average along with 21 home runs and 91 home runs.
