While the Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t play a game Thursday, several players were on hand at Dodger Stadium for the inaugural Blue Diamond Gala honoring the Jackie Robinson Foundation, Los Angeles Fund For Public Education and LA84 Foundation.

Award recipients on the evening were Rachel Robinson, founder of The Jackie Robinson Foundation; Megan Chernin, President and CEO of The Los Angeles Fund for Public Education; and Anita DeFrantz, President of the LA84 Foundation.

The event was presented by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and included Dodger players doubling as models in a Ted Baker fashion show. The process began in Spring Training with early-morning fittings for the participating Dodgers, which weren’t the most pleasant experiences as told by A.J. Ellis.

Ellis jokingly laid claim to being the best-dressed player in attendance before speaking highly of Andre Ethier’s style, among others. When asked throughout the night, several Dodgers named one veteran as the best-dressed on the team.

It was also revealed Yasmani Grandal gets help from his significant other when it comes to his wardrobe. However, he certainly wasn’t alone. Stepping out of a uniform and into a suit wasn’t the most natural transition for Joc Pederson, who Jimmy Rollins explained he needed to coax and give some words of wisdom to.
