Max Muncy Exits Dodgers Cactus League Game Early After Being Hit By Pitch

Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy has exited the Dodgers’ Cactus League game early on Wednesday.

Muncy was hit by a pitch on the hand in the first inning, but was able to stay in to run the bases and field.

However, when Muncy’s spot in the lineup came up in the top of the fourth inning, Austin Gauthier pinch-hit for him. The SportsNet LA broadcast showed Muncy in the dugout looking at his hand, which the team wrapped in the top of the second inning — but it was unwrapped now that he’s exiting the game.

We will continue to provide updates when we know more on Muncy, but for now, we know the team elected to not have him take a second at-bat in Wednesday’s game.

Of course, it’s spring training, so it makes sense to proceed with caution regarding any sort of injury.

Update: Max Muncy is getting X-Rays on his left hand.

Second Update: Max Muncy has a left hand contusion. Still waiting for more from the X-Rays.
