Report: Manny Machado Has Been Traded To The Los Angeles Dodgers
Multiple sources have confirmed: Manny Machado has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
While many of us figured we were in the middle of Manny Machado-eve, reports broke late in the game – including Ken Rosenthal.
Can report with more certainty: Machado to #Dodgers happening. Among remaining questions, in addition to specifics of return beyond OF Yusniel Diaz: How much money, if any, #Orioles will send #Dodgers to secure a better package and help ease LAD’s luxury-tax concerns.

During the game, Machado did an on-field interview with Joe Buck and John Smoltz of the FOX broadcast team. The pair asked questions about how it felt to be wearing an Orioles uniform for the final time. Machado fielded a question about his next stop being Los Angeles. Things felt about as official as they could be, without being completely official.
And then Rosenthal broke his official report that the Dodgers had won out in the Machado sweepstakes.
What we know is that the Dodgers will be sending back Yusniel Diaz – the young outfield prospect who homered twice in the Futures Game on Sunday. From there, the nuts and bolts of the trade will be worked out and specifics will make their way to light as the night goes on and probably into tomorrow afternoon.
We will be updating this fluid situation rapidly as more information is available. Dodgers fans all over the world can rejoice tonight. The organization made the biggest, boldest move there was to make. Los Angeles is gearing up for a run at the World Series.

Machado deal to dodgers is agreed upon, tho could be still some medical/approval to go. Press conference slated for Wednesday or Thursday. Many prospects going to orioles (believed to be 5). No $ in deal (LA will remain under threshold anyway)

Analysis
It’s hard not to be excited. This will go down as one of the larger July trades over the past decade or so. The Dodgers are finally the team that takes home the big haul. Machado joins an already star-studded lineup as a nice insurance policy against any regression that Matt Kemp, Max Muncy, or any other member may face. Any time a middle of the order masher is added to good offensive team – you go from contender to favorite in a hurry within your respective league. Still, it will be interesting to see the full package the Dodgers parted with to make this happen. Make no mistake: this is a big time deal and Dodger fans should be ecstatic.
Dodgers First Half Report Card
Thank you guys in the front office for getting us what we needed.
Thanks for an early X-Mas gift… Joseph. Rialto, Ca.
Yay Manny. Sign him for next season and move people around. Give infield and outfield a day off rotation and use for pinch hitting to keep people healthy.
