Shohei Ohtani Believes He Can Add 'Several Levels' to His Offensive Game With Dodgers

Thanks to the addition of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani this offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to be as lethal as ever. Ohtani will bring a new element to Los Angeles that the team has been searching for.

Soon enough, we’ll get to experience Ohtani do damage in a Dodger uniform. Unfortunately, we won’t witness his pitching prowess this season, but we will all see his hitting prowess this season.

What makes Ohtani so elite is he pitches and hits at such an incredibly high level. He’s truly one of one. Even if we took away the pitching part of his game, he would still be considered among the best players in the league.

That will be the case in 2024.

All eyes will be on Ohtani, and he shouldn’t disappoint. Although he’s already among the best offensive players in the league, Ohtani believes there are ‘several levels’ he could reach.

USA Today’s Bob Nightingale spoke to Ohatni in a recent interview, and the Japanese sensation said he could take his offensive game to new heights in the right lineup.

“I believe there’s not one level, but several levels ahead offensively wise,” Ohtani said. “Its going to depend on what kind of lineup I’m in and everything, but at the end, I’ll keep the focus of trying to get better.”

As a hitter, Ohtani is as elite as they come. He’s a career .274 hitter, slugs .556, and has a .922 OPS. On top of that, he has 171 home runs and 437 RBIs in 2483 ABs and 716 games.

Whether you need a homer, a single, a double, whatever it is, Ohtani can get it done on all facets of offense. It will be difficult for Ohtani to reach ‘several levels,’ but with his work ethic and determination, I won’t be counting him out any time soon.

Ohtani is a freak of nature, so if he says he can do it, he will. The Ohtani era is upon us, and we’re in for a good one, Dodger fans.
