Shohei Ohtani Has Harsh Review for Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s Dodgers Debut
After completing his first Cactus League outing on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto fielded questions from media members.
He was asked how he felt after his debut and his answer was a simple, “relieved.”
When his teammate Shohei Ohtani was asked what he thought of Yamamoto’s debut, Ohtani responded with a harsh criticism saying it was just, “so-so.”
Ohtani made the trip to Surprise to support Yamamoto’s Cactus League and Dodgers debut and was spotted on the top step of the dugout cheering him on.
Yamamoto finished the day with three strikeouts in two innings and only gave up one hit. He threw 19 pitches with 16 strikes and faced the minimum number of batters (six).
Clearly, though, it wasn’t enough to impress his fellow Japanese superstar teammate. You have to love the chemistry between these two guys.
