Shohei Ohtani Traveled With Dodgers to Watch Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s Debut

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is getting set to make his Cactus League debut for the Dodgers on Wednesday, and he has a very special guest in the dugout to watch him.

Shohei Ohtani traveled with the Dodgers from Camelback Ranch to Surprise Stadium to watch his teammate and fellow Japanese superstar make his MLB debut in Cactus League play.

Ohtani confirmed to Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA that he traveled with the team to support Yamamoto in his debut.

This is an incredible gesture from Ohtani, as the players who aren’t set to play don’t usually travel to road Cactus League games — especially the stars.

But the SNLA broadcast reported Ohtani completed his workout early this morning so he could make it to Surprise Stadium to watch Yamamoto play.
