Tweets Of The Day: Dodgers Win 1-0, Take Two Of Three At PETCO
The Dodgers picked up a 4-0 victory over the lowly Padres last night in large part to A.J. Ellis, Yasiel Puig and Clayton Kershaw’s masterpiece on the mound.
Ellis got the scoring started with a two-run blast in the fourth inning, but Puig grabbed all the headlines with his incredible 457 foot home run to dead to center, giving the Dodgers plenty of insurance.
Coming into the game, Kershaw was 0-3 against the Padres, but further solidified his Cy Young with a seven-inning shutout with 10 strikeouts. This afternoon, the other part of the 1-2 punch, Zack Greinke took the mound in search of his 16th win of the season.
For the Padres, Andrew Cashner was set to start and he was in search of his 11th win and was coming off a start against the Pirates where he only allowed one hit.
With two aces on the mound, runs would definitely be hard to come by. Here are the tweets of the day.
As we suspected, Greinke is fine. Was always gonna be abbreviated today. Last start will be normal.
