Tyler Glasnow Reacts to Yoshinobu Yamamoto Choosing the Dodgers

The Dodgers’ acquisition of starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow a few weeks ago was met with all sorts of positivity from the fanbase. L.A. getting one of the best pitchers in the game, when healthy, allowed them to have an ace-level starter leading the rotation.

Glasnow also gets to come home to Southern California to pitch for his hometown team that he grew up rooting for.

But the front office wasn’t done with the rotation, signing Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year, $325 million contract. Yamamoto was their big target after they landed Shohei Ohtani, and the dream offseason has come together for the team.

In an interview with our very own Doug McKain, Glasnow gave his thoughts on the signing of Yamamoto. He said that he is super excited to play alongside the Japanese right-hander, and can’t wait to get to work with him.

“Super excited,” Glasnow said. “The kid’s unbelievably talented. Really young. Has the mentality, too, to be a superstar. Like, nothing really fazes him. He just has elite stuff and I’m excited to go and meet him.”

Having Yamamoto and Glasnow headline this rotation is exactly the idea that the Dodgers’ front office had in mind heading into the offseason. Their rotation was a weakness for them a year ago, but now it has the look of being a major strength.

L.A. has one of the best starting rotations in all of baseball, and they put it together in just a few short weeks. Glasnow alone would have made them much better, but adding in Yamamoto gives this pitching staff a true dominant look.

The two pitchers will be front-line starters for the Dodgers over the next few years, alongside Ohtani when he returns to the mound. The front office has put in work this offseason, and it has paid off in a big way.

  1. Friedman and Co. not only picked up very talented players, but they got guys with good character, team oriented to win, and great to be around to promote team chemistry. Building a good team culture helps in a winning attitude to maybe create a dynasty.
Good going management and owners! GO DODGERS !!!
    MERRY CHRISTMAS DODGERNATION !!!

  2. Just hope these stellar acquisitions don’t equate to stunning price increases at the gate for Dodger fans already struggling to pony-up the Benjamins needed to bring a family of four to Chavez Ravine. The Star Power will be exciting to watch fo sho… but will the average Joe have to watch them on the Tel??
    Raise money elsewhere…
But keep the price of Tix within reach of the hard working loyal fan.
