Vanessa Bryant Gifts Dodgers-Themed Shoes on Anniversary of Kobe’s Final Game
Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late Kobe Bryant, gifted the Dodgers a pair of team-themed Nike Kobe 6’s. The gift commemorates Bryant’s final game of his illustrious 20-year Lakers career.
On April 13, 2016, Kobe scored 60 points in a swansong performance against the Utah Jazz. According to Hall-of-Fame teammate Shaquille O’Neal, this came after he challenged Bryant to score 50 that game.
Bryant’s accolades and accomplishments are too lengthy to list here. He will forever be synonymous with Los Angeles for everything he gave to the city.
On February 28, the Lakers unveiled a statue in front of Crypto.com Arena commemorating Bryant and his 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors.
Bryant passed away on January 26, 2020, along with his daughter Gianna Bryant, pilot Ara Zobayan, Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton Chester, team coach Christina Mauser, Keri Altobelli, John Altobelli, and their daughter Alyssa in a helicopter crash.
