VIDEO: Dodgers Highlights From First Half Of The 2014 Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the 2014 season in Australia with a two-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers won both games, then received negative news as Clayton Kershaw was placed on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his upper back. It would be a precursor for the Dodgers with several other starters being lost to injury.

Clayton Kershaw is in the midst of a historic stretch, 8-0 with a 0.74 ERA in his last eight starts and he threw his first career no-hitter.

Yasiel Puig got off to a hot start in his second season, particularly in May, then slumped a bit in the latter stages of the first half. Dee Gordon has also had an impressive first half as he’s answered the bell at second base for the Dodgers and earned a trip to the All-Star game for the first time in his career.

Nonetheless, after falling behind the San Francisco Giants in the National League West standings by as many as 9.5 games, the Dodgers used a strong June to head into the All-Star break with the best record in the NL.
