Which Dodgers Have the Most to Prove This 2023 Season?

There are tons of Dodgers who have a lot to prove this 2023 season. There are a lot of new faces who need to live up to their contracts, and a lot of old faces who need to bounce back from their disappointing 2022 campaigns.

You could probably make a case that almost everyone has something to prove, considering this team won just one playoff game last season. However, I don’t think someone like Freddie Freeman really has anything else he needs to prove.

The good news is everyone on the team should be entering the 2023 season with a chip on their shoulder, knowing they have to avenge last year’s defeat. Also, this is the first season in a while where the Dodgers aren’t being crowned the favorite before the season starts, which should bode well in terms of lack of pressure.

Our very own Doug McKain highlighted eight Dodgers who have the most to prove this season. He also went through some fan takes, too. You can watch his full video at the top of the article or with this link right here.

While I agree with everything McKain had to say, my No. 1 guy is a little lower on his list, and that’s Chris Taylor. After signing a four-year, $60 million extension, Taylor had his worst season with the Dodgers in 2022. He hit just .221 with a 35.2 percent strikeout rate, and needs to prove that last year was just a fluke, like Dave Roberts said it was.

Thus far in spring, Taylor hasn’t really done that. He has just three hits in 29 at-bats, and has struck out 12 times.

However, it is still just spring training, and this is exactly what it’s for. Hopefully he starts improving soon, and can get back to his 2021 form before the season starts.
