“It’s good,” he said. “I’m playing today.”

There was some concern about Smith’s wrist, which he hurt during a tag at home plate during Tuesday’s game. However, it appears he is ready to return to the lineup.

The Dodgers have dealt with multiple injuries early this season, but Smith’s presence in the lineup should provide a boost for L.A. Friday night.

The 30-year-old has been one of the few Dodgers hitters who have been able to avoid a slump, as he is batting .350/.453/.567 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 20 games. Smith leads all catchers in batting average, on-base percentage, and OPS.

Though Smith’s injury appears to be mild, there was speculation he would undergo further testing once the Dodgers from returned from their road trip. Nevertheless, the Dodgers can welcome back one of their best hitters this season to the lineup against Paul Skenes and the Pirates.
