2014 All-Star Game: Complete AL And NL Rosters Announced

[new_royalslider id=”216″] After weeks of voting, the rosters for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game were announced Sunday. The Oakland Athletics, who hold the best record in the Majors, had six players named to the American League team.

The Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals are tied for second with four players from each team making their respective roster.

Yasiel Puig finished in the top three among National League outfielders to earn a starting spot and makes his first trip to the All-Star game. Dee Gordon was named as a reserve and is also making his first appearance.

Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw are part of the NL’s pitching staff. Greinke leads the Dodgers with 11 wins this season and Kershaw is second on the team with 10 wins. It’s Greinke’s second All-Star game and Kershaw’s fourth.

Puig is first on the Dodgers with a .307 batting average and .393 on-base percentage. The right fielder was at one point the leading vote getter in the outfield, then fell to third in the final update before the official announcement.

Gordon leads the Dodgers with 101 hits and has been a driving force for the Dodgers atop their lineup. Gordon is also one of just four players to ever steal at least 40 bases and hit a minimum of nine triples before the All-Star break.

Fans can now vote for the 34th and final player for each team. The All-Star game will be played July 15 at 5 p.m. PT. Complete breakdown of the rosters:
