Clayton Kershaw Returns to Dodgers Camp on Friday, Resuming Throwing Program

Future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw is officially back with the Dodgers. In person, that is.

Kershaw, who re-signed with the Dodgers earlier this month, reported to Camelback Ranch a few weeks ago to take his physical and speak to reporters. Then, he went back to Dallas to continue his rehab.

On Friday, though, Kershaw returned to Dodgers camp, and will be with the team for the next two weeks before they head to Korea for their Opening Series against the San Diego Padres.

Then, he’ll rejoin the team when they return to Los Angeles for their home opener at the end of March.

Kershaw has also resumed his throwing program, which is great news regarding his rehab. Kershaw underwent surgery to repair the glenohumeral ligaments in his shoulder, and is hoping to return sometime in “July or August.”

For now, he’ll work with the Dodgers coaches and players for the next few weeks, before rejoining them at the end of the month. In an interview with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA, Kershaw said being away from the team felt “weird.”

Kershaw saying his shoulder feels “good” is as much as the Dodgers could have hoped for from the former MVP in March. The focus of the season, for himself and his teammates, is October. Kershaw hopes the surgery has him back in vintage form by then.
