Dodgers Officially Sign Clayton Kershaw, Place Tony Gonsolin on 60-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially signed left-handed Clayton Kershaw to a one-year deal with a player option for the 2025 season. The team made the announcement on Friday.

To make room on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin was placed on the 60-day injured list.

On Thursday, Kershaw had his physical at Camelback Ranch and spoke to reporters for the first time since news broke that he was returning to Los Angeles.

He said he’s targeting a return in “July-ish, August-ish,” but didn’t want to put an exact timeline on it.

Kershaw added that he’s in the second week of his throwing program, and it sounds like he’s on track with where he was hoping to be at this point in the offseason.

As for Gonsolin, he’s expected to miss the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in late August of last season.
