Dodgers Add Tyler Cyr to Bullpen, Option RHP Andre Jackson

The bullpen carousel continues for the Dodgers on Friday in St. Louis. The club announced the addition of right-hander Tyler Cyr ahead of game 2 of the series against the Cardinals. In a corresponding roster move, rookie Andre Jackson was optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

After another rough outing for a starting pitcher — Julio Urias only went 3 innings last night — the heavily taxed bullpen adds another face in Cyr who spend time with the club during spring training back in March. A minor league journeyman pitcher by every stretch of the imagination, Cyr got his first taste of the big leagues last season making his MLB debut as a 29-year-old with the Phillies before being picked up on a waiver wire deal by the Oakland A’s and finished out the season on a nice run with a 2.08 ERA in 11 games.

With the OKC Dodgers, he’s gone 2-1 with a 4.86 ERA over 15 appearances.

Andre Jackson heads back down to AAA after a brief call up. He got hit around late last night, allowing 3 runs over 3.1 innings. Overall the season hasn’t been kind to the rookie Jackson who has a 7.98 ERA over 6 games.
