Dodgers Broadcast: SportsNet LA Set to Debut ‘Celebrating Justin Turner’ Special

It’s the end of an era for the Dodgers and fans following the departure of All-Star third baseman Justin Turner who is heading to Boston on a two year deal with the Red Sox. LA was rumored to be in on the veteran but it appears the two sides were just a bit too far apart on numbers.

Over nine seasons in blue, Justin Turner went from Mets cast off to All-Star, clubhouse leader, community icon, and World Series champion. JT was a character that, as Bill Plaschke of the LA Times put it, was never the best player on the Dodgers but was the very best of the Dodgers.

On Wednesday night, Spectrum’s SportsNet LA is set to debut a program dedicated to honoring the legacy of RedTurn2. “Celebrating Justin Turner” will air at 8:30 PM PT and will feature SNLA favorites John Hartung, Jerry Hairston Jr, former Dodger general manager Ned Colletti, and a local radio personality.

For Colletti, this will be his first time back on-air with Hartung on the gang after leaving the network earlier this year. Importantly, the long-time Dodger staple was the man that signed Turner to a minor league contract nearly a decade ago — the contract that eventually bore a legend in Los Angeles.

Pull up a chair and be ready to share in the emotion with the gang on SNLA tonight!
