Dodgers’ Brusdar Graterol Takes First Step in Injury Recovery

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen is depleted. Multiple of their better relief pitchers have missed the start of the season, including their right-handed flame thrower, Brusdar Graterol.

Graterol has missed the first 16 games of the season and will miss more as he was placed in the 60-day IL. While it will be some time until the Boys in Blue get him back, he’s progressing well from his injury.

Los Angeles Times staff writer Mike DiGiovanna states that Graterol is ramping up in his recovery process.

Reliever Brusdar Graterol threw off a bullpen mound Friday for the first time since the right-hander was put on the 60-day injured list because of shoulder inflammation on April 2.

The 25-year-old was placed in the IL due to shoulder inflammation. He was expected to miss the start of the season, but the Dodgers expect him back about a month from now.

His time with the Boys in Blue has been as good as it can be. Graterol holds a 2.69 ERA, 131 strikeouts, 159 ERA+, 3.24 FIP, and a 1.04 WHIP in 173.2 innings and 171 games.

Although it will be some time before he returns, it’s great to see Graterol is ramping up his recovery. The Dodgers bullpen is atrocious at the moment, ranking 21st in the league with a 4.73 ERA. Graterol cannot come soon enough.
