Dodgers: Chris Taylor Talks About the Loss of Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner

The business of professional sports is brutal. The Dodgers were dealt the brunt force of it all during this off-season and shifting towards the new generation of baseball in LA.

It’s never easy to lose teammates, but it’s even harder to lose long-time friends that you’ve gone to battle with over the years. Among the names for Chris Taylor include Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner, a pair of the longest tenured players from the team that found new homes this offseason.

All three went through a trial of fire together before finally reaching the World Series summit in 2020. Memories good enough to last a lifetime and teammates Taylor will never forget. CT shared his thoughts on losing his friends on our YouTube channel recently.

“A lot of those guys going all the way back to 2016, 2017, we’ve been teammates and really close friends since, for the last six years. And obviously I would love for those guys to still be playing for the Dodgers, but that’s just the nature of the business. Things happen.”

All there is to do now is to move forward and make the most of his growing opportunity, but of course Taylor isn’t ready to rule out any possibility of a reunion.

“And I wish all those guys the best in their new homes. And I think they’re all going to have great years this coming year. And who knows, maybe down the line, they’ll be back in Dodger blue.”

It would truly be the cherry on top of what has been a wild ride for the Dodgers. Bellinger and Turner have paid their dues and fans will forever remember their legacy, but the Dodgers are in good hands moving forward.
