Dodgers: Could This Be Walker Buehler’s Cy Young Season?
From the moment that Walker Buehler came up through the Dodgers system, it wasn’t a matter of if he would win a Cy Young award, but when. The hype around Buehler’s arm has been real from day one for a reason, and he comes into the 2022 season as the ace of the staff.
But pitching in his 6th season at the big league level, Buehler appears to have found a new gear. The Dodgers hurler has already tallied a 1.96 ERA and 2.98 FIP across 6 starts, and he appears to be getting better with each game.
So could this finally be the year that Buehler takes home his first Cy Young award? Drop into the comments and let us know if you agree or disagree.
Buehler was well on track to win it in 2021 before a late-season meltdown. That can partially be attributed to the Dodgers working him harder than ever before. But over his last 3 games, Buehler has been on another level. If he can keep this up throughout the course of the season, there’s no reason to believe that he can’t win it.
