Dodgers: Dave Roberts Makes MLB History with Division Title
When the Dodgers clinched their 7th consecutive division crown on Tuesday night in Baltimore, Dave Roberts etched his name the record books. The manager earned his 4th straight title in 4 seasons at the helm for Los Angeles.
Dave Roberts is the first @MLB manager *ever* to win a division title in each of his first four seasons as an MLB manager, according to the @Dodgers, who have won seven NL West titles in a row. @MLBNetwork

That 4 for 4 would be historic for a first time manager. Jon Morosi hits us with that note via the Dodgers official press release. Dave Roberts was hired as the Dodgers manager ahead of the 2016 season and signed a 3 year extension this past off-season.
While the 2019 season still has 16 games left to play, Doc’s record of 381-252 since 2016 gives him a .601 winning percentage. That number is good 4th place on the all-time managers W-L% list, per Baseball Reference. It is also good for the top spot in Dodgers franchise history, with a minimum of 600 games managed.
That list features 9 Hall of Famers, including Tom Lasorda and Walter Alston.
Of course, Dave doesn’t care about the personal accolades… his eye is set on a bigger prize. A World Series title.
Everything we do going forward is to win 11 games in October.
