Dodgers: David Price Starts the Bullpen Game Tonight in Los Angeles

The Dodgers will once again go with a bullpen game tonight in Los Angeles. As they continue to roll with just 4 guys in their starting rotation, it should be expected for the foreseeable future. At least until Tony Gonsolin is able to return.

Trevor Bauer was originally supposed to go for the Dodgers on Thursday night. It lined up with his normal rest, but Dave Roberts changed up the approach. Bauer will instead start Friday night against the first-place Giants in San Francisco.

Tonight, the Dodgers will go with David Price to open the game. Price has pitched in just 1 game since returning from the injured list with a  hamstring strain. He tossed a scoreless inning on Tuesday against Arizona.

The Dodgers getting back Price could end up being huge for the bullpen in the long run. While he will probably be limited to 1 inning as he continues to recover from the hamstring strain, Price will be one of the few multi-inning options out of the pen eventually.

The Dodgers have a number of guys that can go behind Nelson on Thursday. Jimmy Nelson has not pitched since he opened up the bullpen game on Sunday, so he should be an option to go right after Price.

Price will go up against Arizona’s Merrill Kelly tonight.
