Dodgers Fans React to Carlos Correa Signing with the Rival Giants

It just had to happen this way, didn’t it? The Dodgers get linked to Carlos Correa all offseason long, just for Ken Rosenthal to report that fans don’t want him because of his ties to the 2017 Astros. Then, in perfect Hollywood fashion, the villain becomes the…even bigger villain, and signs with the Dodgers’ biggest and most storied rival, the San Francisco Giants.

Well, the NL West will be fun now, won’t it? Three teams full of All-Stars battling it out for the next five or so years — and I say five because neither Correa’s contract nor that Xander Boagaerts deal with the Padres will age very well.

But either way, although the Dodgers didn’t get Correa, something good did come out of him signing with the Giants — and that’s the reaction of Dodger fans. There were emotions all over the board, so here are some of the best of them:

A lot of hate. A lot of rational thinking. A lot of thinking ahead. This is just the beginning. We’ll have 13 more years to react to this deal, and what it means for the Giants, the Dodgers, the NL West and the rivalry.

But for now, the fans who didn’t want Correa on the Dodgers, you can rejoice. For the fans who did, this was definitely the worst case scenario. And for all Dodger fans, hopefully, the team makes a move soon.

  1. Cheaters never prosper?!? He sure got paid! Just glad it’s not Dodgers money! Will be fun to “boo” him for the next 10 years! ???

  2. I’ll boo him twice as loudly since he’s a member of the Hated Vertically Advantaged!

  3. Oh this will be too much fun. When Correa walks into Dodger Stadium in a Giants uniform, it will be must see TV

  4. Glad we didn’t sign trash. I prefer to save money over Correa getting paid that much for never cracking 30 HR 100 RBI. Plus it never fails Correa always misses time with injuries

We need to get the Swanson deal done for less as that kid is steady and a quiet producer

  5. This makes perfect sense. The Giants have always been the biggest haven for cheaters since the Soviet Olympic team.

  6. We need Joe Kelley back for some attitude. Zaidi really knows how to promote an old style rivalry. Just keep it buzzing….. some Don Drysdale style.

  7. If I’m not mistaken Joc Pederson wasn’t to happy with COREA back in the day…huh???

  8. Ha ! Chris Russo chastised the Giants as crazy and the worst move in the SF Giants. He went off so hard he almost lost it on air…was sooo funny.

  9. Now watch belly hit like crazy. Giants and padres have great 23. The big question is the home team ! I’ve been backing ing um since the move so let’s roll up our sleeves and “Play Ball ” !

  10. The bad points of the Correa signing is that he is a good player and the AAV is not too high. The good points are that he will be on the Giant roster for baseball “eternity”, he will, at least at first, be an open sore on the former Dodgers (and probably some Giant players too) and he will be able to be pitched around. Even now, that Giant lineup is not impressive. The pitchers that they have signed are not of the deGrom and Verlander quality. The west is still a two team race. Unfortunately, a tough two team race. The Dodgers will prevail. I don’t believe the Padres will be able to make up 22 games especially after Friedman improves the team from it’s present roster.

  11. Barry Bonds was a cheater, too –
And we hated the Gnats then, also.
So just more of the same…

Plus we need Joe Kelly back to buzz him with a few inside heaters

  12. I would never want Correa on our team, but do we have to keep sitting around watching Giants, Padres, and everyone else get better while we shed players like Turner, Anderson, and even Bellinger? Last year’s team disappointed in the end, but it was a hell of a season otherwise and the team seemed to have great chemistry. It seems like Friedman is resigned to making 2023 a “transition” year, making do with young players up from Triple A, and an aging core from the past couple of years.

  13. Why are Dodgers’ fans so full of hate? It’s pretty damn ungrateful. Dodgers have nine NL West Titles, Three NL Pennants, and a World Championship in just the last ten years.

  14. Actually the Dodgers have done quite well with reclamation projects such as Brandon Morrow,. Tyler Anderson, and Andrew Heaney.
