Dodgers: Fans React to the New Nike City Connect Uniforms

The Los Angeles Dodgers unveiled the highly anticipated Nike City Connect uniforms. Nike’s City Connect Series aims “to explore a franchise’s connection to its city and its fanbase’s distinct personalities, values, customs and traditions.” We review every detail of the Dodgers’ new City Connect uniforms and grade them on a scale of 1-10.

Plus, Dodgers fans had very strong reactions to LA’s new threads over on Twitter. We present some of the hottest takes on the Dodgers new getup

The reactions online were ranging for sure, but for the greater part the new threads seemed to be mostly accepted. More than 1,600 people participated in a recent poll on our Twitter page and 62% of fans grade the city connects as fine.

Importantly, at least they’re not those throwback VLC player cones that that San Francisco team wore a few weeks back.

One source of complains for fans was the outlandish asking prices for these uniforms. On the official MLB store, the price tag will set you back $435 before tax and that’s without a player name on the back.

Love ’em or hate ’em, the boys in a whole lot of blue will be wearing these city connect uniforms tonight at the ravine! Keep an eye out for the tight blue pants of Walker “Butane” Buehler.

  1. “Keep an eye out for the tight blue pants of Walker “Butane” Buehler.” Not exactly what I look for when reading about baseball.

I heard a bunch of complaining about ‘exploiting’ women in the Olympics with their sexy outfits, but the Dodgers’ ‘tight blue pants’ are something we should be excited about and ‘key an eye out for’ ???

Anyone know of a forum that talks baseball and not how cute the players might be?

    1. good for you,I dont even like their stupid logo on the regular unis, gee lets celebrate forced slave labor

  2. HIdeous! They look like beer league softball uniforms, and that’s likely insulting the good folks in the beer drinking softball leagues!

  3. The uni’s are butt-ugly and what’s all this nonsense with Ficken Nike trying to tell us how to connect our culture and city into some dumbarse ugly uniform their people came up with? This is just further insanity sweeping the world today from dingbat liberals. Leave BB alone snowflakes

  4. I really hate the all blue unis. I could accept the shirt- not those hideous pants! The Dodgers have always had the classiest uniforms! Then you put the team in this! Shame on whoever approved this mess!

  5. I agree that the all blue uni’s look like softball. Very ugly. White pants would have made them look sharp. Who comes up with these things? Geez.

  6. The Jersey looks good… pants terrible. LA Dogers GREAT. Los Dogers NO! Are you nuts?

  7. Awful. I reside over 500 miles away. I grew up in S. Cal. From the Koufax and Drysdale years thru the Garevy, Cey, Lopes and Russell teams that played in those 3 classic WS vs. The Yankees. I have not been in Dodger Stadium since 1986. It is my fondest desire to get back some day. I. Serious considered coming out for the Friday night and Saturday day games, had actually pinned down the tickets and lodging. I am not a high roller, this would have been a $1,000 weekend. Because of job commitments the trip was tabled. Thank God. I not only want to attend in terms of the current team, roster, standings, etc. but I want to experience THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS – the iconic, historical Dodgers. To say that it would have been a disappointment is an understatement. It would have been insulting. You are too good for this, at least you should be!

  8. They look like blue long johns.

The dodgers are much more than just the local hispanic culture.

  9. We have the best looking uniform in the league. Why ruin such things. The uniforms looked terrible. I for one will not be spending any of my money on this uniform. Think of a different way to promote “Los Dodgers”

  10. Ditto, all the above reviews of these pathetic blue pjs. Having followed the Dodgers since Brooklyn, I can only add that those uniforms make them look like “dem blue bums”.
