Dodgers Favorites to Sign Shohei Ohtani, Top 5 Destinations For Angels Superstar

We only have a few weeks left to go in the MLB season before the playoffs start, but all eyes are on Shohei Ohtani watch. The Los Angeles Angels two-way superstar will be a free agent this winter, and there will be no shortage of suitors for his services.

He will likely have surgery to repair a torn UCL, but that shouldn’t stop too many teams from going after him. Even if he can’t pitch next season, Ohtani still brings major value with his bat and his overall marketability.

Most contracts offered to him will be for a long amount of time and likely will have some form of incentives within it. They may even include opt-outs at certain points down the line.

Many expect teams like the Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, etc. to go after Ohtani this winter. But nobody really knows exactly what he is thinking.

Recently, our very own Doug McKain broke down the free agency for Ohtani, including the top-five landing spots for the biggest show in baseball. You can watch the entire video here!

The Dodgers remain the favorites to land Ohtani this offseason, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t have strong competition. Teams like the San Francisco Giants will also be making a play for the two-way superstar, and we could see some surprising teams come out of nowhere, as well.

LA provides him with everything that he is looking for from a new team. They have shown the ability to win consistently, they are on the West Coast and they can pay him whatever amount of money he is looking for.

This is going to be the most watched free agency since LeBron James in the NBA when he took his talents to South Beach. Ohtani has that kind of pull over the sports world right now, and this will be a very interesting winter.
